Photography from my two visits to the city Oaxaca and surrounding area. I was fortunate to experience Día de los Muertos or Day of the Day which was a truly magical and unforgettable experience. The culinary scene, street art and nearby town and Zapotec ruins of Mitla were definitely worth made this destination one of my favorites.
Photography from my travels through Sri Lanka. An absolutely delightful island filled with temples, ruins and palaces, delicious food and no shortage of elephants both domesticated and in the wild. I spent the majority of my time in the lush, hilly center of the island know as the “Cultural Triangle”. I started in Kandy, with its Temple of the Tooth, said to contain an actual tooth retrieved from the Buddha’s funeral pyre. Using Kandy as a starting point, there seemed to be no end to the countless temples, many of them inside caves, and filled with colorful frescos and statuary as well as endless beautiful scenery to enjoy.
Touristy but undeniably enjoyable, the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, home to the worlds largest collection of elephants, the majority which had been orphaned or wounded during Sri Lanka’s 26 year civil war which thankfully ended in 2009.
A short distance away the unforgettable ruins of Sigiriya, a majestic rock-fortress & palace perched upon a massive rock, that towers over the surrounding plains. Close by, Anuradhapura, one of the greatest monastic centers of the ancient world, as well as the Dambulla Cave Temples, were also highlights of my time there.
While my time there was filled with amazing sights every day, I feel there is still so much more that I’d like to discover and experience especially as it is an extremely beautiful and photogenic tropical island. Hopefully, I will get the chance to return to experience more of the history, culture and natural beauty of Sri Lanka.

Photography from my travels through Rajasthan, or Land of the Kings. While there, I visited Jaipur, known as the pink city. Jodhpur, the blue city and Udaipur on Lake Pichola. Near Udaipur is the wonderful, ornate yet serene Jain temple of Ranakpur, truly heaven on earth.
